OUR VISION
At PLYWOOD.CH skis we believe that success comes from responsible and sustainable business practices. This is why we choose to produce our handmade freeride skis right here in Switzerland; blending handpicked high-performance materials with a deep respect for the environment. We don’t just build skis we craft them naturally.
In order to make the best skis possible we produce them entirely in-house from a design’s first pen stroke, to the finishing tune before they go out the door.
Our approach has given us a profound understanding of ski design leading to exciting new ideas and development paths. This coupled with our in-house production means we fully control the quality of our products – because we care about what we produce and where it comes from.
OUR VALUES
PLYWOOD.CH skis aims to create unique and honest products. We value nature and “Back to the Woods” is meant literally: By using wood as a natural and renewable resource we are able to replace more than 1.2kg of petroleum based plastics that would be typically found in a comparable mass produced ski.
Combined with a solid and durable construction, we minimize the ecological footprint of our skis.? Allowing you to make ecologically friendly ‘tracks’ every time you ski. The wooden topsheets will feel right at home every time you steer your PLYWOOD skis into a slope.
OUR STORY
It all started with the construction of slalomskateboards back in 2003. This is when we first made casting molds to ‘press stuff in’, and begun messing around with fibreglass and epoxy.? Our name PLYWOOD comes from the 1mm birch plywood we used in those skatedecks . Over time PLYWOOD’s logo, the “pitchfork”, arose from the Y in PLYWOOD.
In 2006 PLYWOOD.CH stepped up to face the challenges of ski design. What began as an idea has now evolved into a precision designed product range of freeride skis.
